Lawful Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Consent: Where you have actively submitted a form, opted in to receive email communications, or opted in to receive SMS/text message marketing.
- Legitimate interest: To respond to your enquiry, manage our customer relationships, and improve our services. We have assessed that this processing does not override your rights and freedoms.
- Contract: Where processing is necessary to deliver a quote, design, or installation you have requested.
- Legal obligation: Where we are required by law to retain certain records (e.g. for tax and accounting purposes).
LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms
When you submit an enquiry via one of our LinkedIn advertisements, LinkedIn provides us with the information you have chosen to share, which typically includes your name, work email, phone number, company, job title, and your answers to our qualifying questions (e.g. floor area required, intended use, postcode).
This information is transferred from LinkedIn to our internal systems for the sole purpose of responding to your enquiry. LinkedIn’s own processing of your data is governed by their privacy policy, available at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
SMS Marketing & Abandoned Cart Messages
Where you have given us your express consent, we may send you marketing and promotional text messages, including abandoned cart reminders, order updates, and information about our products and special offers.
How you opt in
You can opt in to receive SMS marketing from us by:
- Entering your mobile number and ticking the SMS marketing consent box at checkout or on a sign-up form on our website
- Texting a keyword to our designated number
- Otherwise providing express written consent to receive marketing text messages
Abandoned cart reminders
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to help keep track of items you put into your shopping cart, including when you have abandoned your cart. Where you have provided your mobile number and consented to SMS marketing, this information is used to determine when to send you cart reminder messages by text message.
Message frequency and costs
Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. We are not responsible for any charges your carrier may apply.
How to opt out
You can opt out of SMS marketing at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any marketing text message you receive from us
- Emailing info@azil.co.uk to request removal from our SMS list
You may receive a final confirmation message after opting out. After that, you will not receive further marketing texts from us unless you opt back in. Please note that opting out of marketing messages does not opt you out of transactional or service-related messages necessary for the administration of your account or order. For help, reply HELP to any text message from us.
Sharing of SMS opt-in data
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and will not be sold under any circumstances. We use a trusted SMS service provider (Klaviyo) solely to facilitate the delivery of these messages on our behalf, and they are contractually bound to protect your information.
Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with the following categories of recipients:
- Our internal team members involved in responding to your enquiry and delivering services
- Trusted third-party service providers who process data on our behalf, including our CRM system, email service provider, and SMS service provider (Klaviyo)
- Installation partners and subcontractors, where necessary to deliver a project you have engaged us for
- Professional advisors (e.g. accountants, solicitors) where required
- Regulatory authorities and law enforcement, where required by law
All third parties we work with are required to protect your data and process it only for the purposes we specify.
The above sharing excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties for marketing purposes.
International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers (including LinkedIn and Klaviyo) may store or process data outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner.

- Customer data: 7 years from the date of last contract or transaction, in line with HMRC record-keeping requirements
- Marketing consent records (including SMS opt-in records): until you withdraw consent, plus a reasonable period thereafter to evidence the prior consent
- Website analytics data: up to 26 months
